RGB colour line scan camera for sorting processes
Material and colour analyses
Our uniScanRGB colour line scan camera (see Fig. 1) analyses materials using RGB colour information based on a CMOS sensor with an integrated Bayer colour filter.
It was developed as an accessory for our hyperspectral cameras. Attaching it to the casing of the hyperspectral camera enables you to align both cameras and to focus them on the same measurement position.
In addition to the NIR/SWIR data of the hyperspectral camera, the camera is integrated into our software in such a way that its data provides additional colour features for materials analysis. This is useful, for example, for the separation of transparent plastics (PET).
Technology | CMOS sensor with color filter (Bayer pattern) |
Dynamic range | optionally 12, 14, or 16 bit |
Number of measuring tracks | max. 2048 (full frame) |
Frame rate | 800 fps |
Protection class | IP67 |
Data connection | Gigabit Ethernet |
Applications in combination with NIR hyperspectral cameras
■ Identification of brown cardboard in the deinking process
■ Color-pure sorting of PET in bottle-to-bottle recycling
■ Separation of black plastics
Applications of the standalone version
■ Material identification based on RGB colour space information
■ Classification of colour spaces for sorting applications
■ Foreign object detection in material flows
